My suggestion is pretty simple, any chance we could add some new parts to "The Cove" and have the ability to post videos in the artcles/forums? Even if it was just embedding which would save some bandwidth I'd imagine.

Personally, I dance, and could perhaps teach some moves or just gain publicity (for Study Cove) with my moves. It would be nice to have either a section like that in The Cove or Forums as it is a field of study (much like most anything).

Example of me dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzbbP9wKADg

And no, most of my videos do not have 800+ views but it depends on what song I do for the most part.

Just my two cents. Wink

Also: Perhaps have a suggestion forum? Or make Tech Support clearly double up as that? Either way works for me.

Re: Suggestion/Question

I was under the impression that you could embed videos into articles and reviews.

as for forum posts well...

As for adding new parts to the site, I don't know. I do know that Steve and whoever else screws around with the code are always looking for new ways to make the site more accessible, so I guess if you say what you want added they will think about it.

ps. I like you saying "The Cove", me and someone else on this site have talked on facebook a few times about how changing the name to the cove would be (at least we thought) a good boost to the site.

Oh, I see how it's done. I've only used BBL code or whatever for forum posts.

I agree though that the sites main issue is ease of use.

Can that method be used for submissions too?

P.s. I was actually just referring to where you can submit stuffs ala "The Cove" though I think that's more "open" of a name to attract folks than "Study Cove." I'm speaking of objective preference though only. Personally I don't care either way but I do want more traffic.

I have no idea if HTML works in Review, I only have text in mine.

But many of my friends outright refuse to join this site because of it's name, kinda sad Sad

but hey, I guess that was the point of the site to begin with (I think).

We gotta have some way to keep the riff raff out.

No insult to your friends of course but that's the good thing about starting up sites like this, less ruffians.

I find my friends quite mature really.

That said I have told them things about a certain user and they may have a bias towards said user XD

Re: Suggestion/Question

You can embed as Jack showed you. Simply use the embed code within YouTube and copy/paste it onto any part of SC.

If you want to add a video to a submission, simply do the same and it will show on your review/article etc etc.

Yea would be cool for you to forward people to the site to help increase traffic/members.

Im constantly working on improving the site but its not always easy with little funds. So bare with me there but it will come. Some parts of the site look awful and the back end work is increasing lol.

As for the name... ive had a few people mention this and its difficult to gauge (basing on a few peoples view).. If your friends are put off by a simple name then tbh they will never be the kind of people to stick around anyway. Maybe see it as one of those things that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover and actually become apart of the site first. The Cove is more of a selling point, i agree.

I personally love the name and will continue to do so. Yes the intention is to mix a bit of everything and i firmly believe it will come good. Continuing support from everyone is all i ask and i will try do the rest.

Studycove gets interest and alot of visits... we get the odd person sign up, like Cleril, and they become a big part of the site. It will catch on... just need stable people on the site and stable uploads.

Oh, thank you for the compliment! Although I did just join and with most things in life this is what happens:

1. I'm going on a diet

Two weeks later

2. I'm doing good

Two weeks later

3. They're selling chocolate!

Basically I'm just saying not to get your hopes up entirely. Luckily I have a few reasons to be here which would negate the above scenario but only time will tell.

Oh and I actually learned about this place from your rep at The Escapist, whoever they are on here.

I'll see if there's anything worth putting up in a submission regarding dance. If it was a tutorial I assume it would go in the music section?

Oh and no rush on making the site more accessible. It's a problem, yes, though it's not making the site utterly impossible to navigate. It's just got a lot of tape and glue marks. Big smile

I will take that as a hilarious compliment.

Yea i meant to say/mean 'we get the odd person sign up, like Cleril, and they MAY become a big part of the site.'

Basically saying that anyone who joins and contributes is becoming apart of the site... If they stick around more then they may become a big part and could be a game changer... you never know!

No pressure as im pretty numb to getting my hopes up with people anyways.

Just enjoy and do what you can Smile

Of course, keep doing what I've been doing. Got it.

Challenge Accepted.

Re: Suggestion/Question

I think half of the people came here by The Escapist and half got forced here by Stoogie (I doubt I will ever get used to that).
